Alumina Zirconia Grains | AZ25 | AZ40

40% alumina-zirconia grains have  high hardness and extreme toughness. Extremely wear resistant, the 40% alumina zirconia grains consist of fine primary corundum and alumina-zirconia eutectic crystalline structure, which allows for one of the most durable materials in the abrasives industry, outperforming commodity abrasives like brown fused aluminum oxide and silicon carbide.

Produced by fusing zirconia and alumina, AZ25 features a fine primary corundum and alumina-zirconia crystalline structure, which delivers extremely wear resistant and anti-friable properties. It is particularly well suited for tough grinding applications like high-pressure grinding for steel conditioning, foundry, and snagging. AZ25 grains are primarily used for steel conditioning wheels, snagging wheels, large diameter cut-offs and other grinding applications that require high speed and pressure.

Long Life

AZ40 grains are a special alloy containing about 40Wt% zirconia produced by fusing zirconia and alumina in an electric arc furnace. our Abrasive Grains’ unique process develops very small crystal sizes and unique columnar microstructures, generating high self-dressing ability. These special microstructures give the abrasive grains their hardness and toughness, resulting in long life and cutting/grinding efficiency on bonded abrasives.

AZ40  can be used for high-performance coated abrasives such as heavy-duty belts, flap discs and fiber discs. They show outstanding performance when dealing with metal that is difficult to grind. AZ40 1575 grains are treated to improve the electrostatic coating process.
